1. Free to use
ModernCommerce Core is provided without a purchase price. Individuals, organizations, educators, businesses, developers, and service providers may obtain and use the software without entering into a sales contract with Agunfon Interactivity LLC (“Agunfon”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
There is no activation fee, platform revenue share, mandatory renewal, per-site software charge, or per-user software charge imposed by the ModernCommerce project. No payment is required to access any current software feature.
2. Open-source licence
ModernCommerce Core is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, except where an included third-party component identifies another compatible licence.
Your rights to run, study, modify, and redistribute the covered software come from the applicable open-source licence. You must comply with that licence when copying, modifying, or redistributing covered work. This page does not replace, restrict, or expand the GPL.
3. Free option and community support
The free option includes the complete downloadable plugin and all available features. It may also include public documentation, community resources, and access to public issue-reporting channels.
Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, the free option does not include private support, guaranteed response or resolution times, installation, configuration, implementation, hosting, maintenance, security monitoring, compatibility work, or delivery of future features.
4. Optional paid support and maintenance
A paid support or maintenance option does not purchase the ModernCommerce software and does not unlock additional software functionality. It purchases only the services and benefits identified in the applicable Moodle Marketplace price description, order confirmation, and these Terms.
Professional — US$999 per year
The Professional option provides support and maintenance services for one production Moodle site during an active annual subscription. It includes:
- Installation and configuration guidance.
- Payment-gateway setup assistance.
- Upgrade assistance.
- Troubleshooting by email.
- An initial response target of one business day.
- Up to two consultation calls during each annual subscription period.
The response target measures when we aim to provide an initial substantive response after receiving enough information to investigate. It is not a guaranteed resolution time. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding United States federal holidays. Support is subject to reasonable-use limits for guidance and troubleshooting on the covered site.
Professional support does not include custom development, management of the customer’s Moodle site, hosting, third-party fees, payment-provider intervention, data recovery, emergency incident response, or work outside the stated service scope unless we agree to it separately in writing. Consultation calls must be scheduled in advance and do not carry over into a later subscription period.
5. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
The Professional option is an annual recurring subscription priced at US$999, excluding any applicable taxes or payment charges shown at checkout. Support and maintenance benefits continue only while that subscription remains active and paid. Renewal conditions and any trial period are shown before purchase.
You may cancel a recurring subscription through the available Marketplace or payment-provider controls. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not remove the plugin, disable installed features, or reduce your GPL rights. Unless the applicable price description says otherwise, service continues until the end of the paid billing period.
If a payment fails, is reversed, or remains overdue, we may suspend the paid service benefits after reasonable notice. The free software remains available and functional.
6. Voluntary sponsorship
A price option identified as a contribution, supporter option, donation, or sponsorship is voluntary and helps fund maintenance, documentation, testing, security work, compatibility, and open-source development. Payment does not change the software or provide additional functionality.
Unless its price description expressly includes a defined service, sponsorship does not create ownership, exclusivity, a service-level agreement, priority support, delivery dates, or control over the roadmap.
7. Payment, taxes, and refunds
Prices, currency, billing frequency, and accepted payment methods are displayed at checkout. Payments made through Moodle Marketplace are processed through its supported Stripe checkout or invoice process. You are responsible for taxes, duties, bank charges, or similar amounts that apply to your purchase, except where applicable law requires another treatment.
Except where required by law or expressly stated in the applicable price option, completed sponsorship contributions are non-refundable. For paid support or maintenance, contact us promptly if the described service has not been provided. Any approved refund normally ends the related paid service entitlement. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
8. Your responsibility
You control the Moodle environment in which ModernCommerce runs. You are responsible for evaluating whether it is suitable for your needs, testing it before production use, maintaining restorable backups, securing your systems and credentials, monitoring operations, and confirming compatibility with your Moodle version, PHP version, theme, plugins, payment providers, and infrastructure.
You are also responsible for your products, prices, taxes, payment and merchant accounts, customer communications, refunds, privacy obligations, consumer rights, accessibility, record retention, and compliance with laws that apply to your operation.
9. Software warranty and service limitations
ModernCommerce is provided under the warranty and liability terms of its applicable open-source licence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the software is provided “as is”, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every environment, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Paid support is a reasonable-efforts service within the purchased scope. It does not guarantee that every issue can be reproduced or resolved, that third parties will change their products, or that ModernCommerce will remain compatible with every environment. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Names and trademarks
The GPL applies to covered software code. It does not grant permission to use the Agunfon or ModernCommerce names, logos, brand assets, or identity in a way that suggests endorsement, certification, partnership, or official status.
11. Support contact and questions
Customers with an active Professional subscription may contact support@agunfoninteractivity.com using the purchase email address and should include their order reference, Moodle and PHP versions, affected site URL, and a clear description of the issue. Our target is to provide an initial substantive response within one business day.
General project questions and notices concerning these Terms may be sent to the same address.
